Week 2 - UMC of Pepin, WI
Updated: Aug 24, 2018
Greetings, church family, from the United Methodist church of Pepin, WI!
We had the pleasure of joining them in Sunday worship on the 24th. Theirs is a traditional looking church, with the white clapboards and about 25 people in attendance. Pastor Lisa is one of the "circuit riders", with 2 other UMC churches along the river to minister to.

We had hoped to leave Pepin on Monday, but didn't leave until today (Thursday), since there were no marinas open because of the flooding. So, we got to know Pepin like a local! I am attaching a picture of the Hop N Ride, which took us to restaurants, the laundromat and the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum. It sure brought back happy memories for me when I saw all 9 books available for purchase. If you haven't read them, or if it's been awhile, I urge you to understand what her life was like, because so many of the traits that helped them survive are dominate today in this area.
We are in Winona, MN tonight, and heading to Lacrosse WI tomorrow. We'll be there until Monday morning. We are hopeful that we can continue on our schedule in time to see the St Louis cardinals host the Cincinnati Reds on July 13th.
Blessings to all,
Lenny and Louise
